We are particularly thankful for our ongoing relationship with Deloitte as this past week, Deloitte team members delivered 200 care packages filled with snacks and vital hygiene products to distribute to NCS clients.

Donnavan, the superintendent at Louis Nine House (LNH) in the South Bronx, has been with NCS for over four years now. Donnavan exemplifies our “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” spirit as a member of the facilities team working at Louis Nine House and the greater NCS community. He never hesitates to step outside of his job description to help our clients and his coworkers as well.

Yesterday, in the Valentine’s Day spirit, clients at the NCS residence gathered to create some beautiful flower arrangements!
To celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day this year, Volunteers from Syneos Health visited Louis Nine House to prepare breakfast, hear a panel of NCS clients reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s famous quotes, and remember all that he did for the civil rights movement and overall social progress in the US.

Eva Cecelia McCoy and Sophia Adelle McCoy grew up in Minnesota and moved to New York City with their mom about five years ago, when the teens were in middle school and college. The sisters were excited to form a new community of friends, who like them, cared about helping others.

The Chalfants were introduced to NCS almost 10 years ago by their friends and long-time NCS supporters, Hugh Fremantle and Susan Stevens who thought correctly that Kathleen and Henry would be moved by NCS’s work. They began making annual contributions and soon committed to monthly donations to support NCS’s clients. But when the pandemic started, they wanted to do more... and we had the perfect role for them!
At NCS, we think of ourselves as a family helping our neighbors. For two of our board members, they really are family!
