The Second Mile Project Brings Comfort—and Smiles—to NCS Clients

The Second Mile Project recently went the extra mile for NCS clients by preparing and delivering over 100 thoughtfully assembled “Blessing Bags.” Each bag was filled with essential items like hygiene products, snacks, socks, and other daily comforts—small things that make a big difference for individuals working hard to rebuild their lives.

These bags were distributed to clients at both Chance for Change and the NCS Residence, where they were received with heartfelt gratitude and excitement. The joy on our clients’ faces said it all—these simple acts of kindness not only met immediate needs but also reminded our community members that they are seen, valued, and supported.

We are incredibly thankful to Alexa DeLuzio and all the volunteers from The Second Mile Project who donated their time, energy, and care to make this effort possible. Their compassion is a powerful example of how communities can come together to support our neighbors experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
