Honoring the People Who Make NCS’ Mission Possible
Last week, the NCS staff gathered at Fort Greene Park for a well-deserved afternoon together. After putting in such hard work across all of our programs year-round, it was a joy to step away and spend time as a team sharing food, laughter, and a little friendly competition.
There were games, plenty of music, and delicious food thanks to our Grill Master, Marion Cash, who kept the hot dogs and hamburgers coming. Staff relaxed and caught up with colleagues they don’t always get to see day to day and enjoyed the kind of community spirit that they so often create for others.
As Robert Yancey, our Chief Program Officer, shared:
This outing was a small way of showing our gratitude for the people who make NCS what it is. Their work happens quietly and often behind the scenes, but its impact is life changing. We’re grateful for every member of our team—for the care they bring to our community every single day, and for the chance to celebrate them together.
