Crafting Connection with Jan
Jan Golann is a constant source of care and support at NCS. As a board member, dedicated volunteer, and longtime friend of our programs, she continually finds ways to make a difference in the lives of our clients.
This winter, as heavy snowstorms swept across the city, Jan made sure our clients were not left behind. Amid the latest storm, she delivered meals from the All Souls Monday Night Hospitality meal program alongside All Souls volunteer Hailey to the NCS Residence, braving icy streets to ensure everyone was cared for despite the harsh weather. However, this level of dedication comes as no surprise: during COVID-19, Jan and fellow St. James’ Church parishioner Faith Fraser began delivering meals from All Souls every Monday night, proving that neither blizzards nor pandemics can slow their commitment to serving neighbors.
Jan’s thoughtfulness goes far beyond meals. Following the success of her December holiday card-making event, she brought Valentine’s Day celebrations to all our program sites, hosting hands-on creative sessions for our clients. She provided all the craft supplies, decorations, and even refreshments, giving clients the chance to express themselves, connect with neighbors, and enjoy a joyful celebration in honor of the holiday.
Jan’s commitment reaches every corner of NCS, showing up in ways that create meaningful moments of connection for our clients. She is part of a community of volunteers whose dedication reminds everyone in our programs that they are seen, valued, and supported.
