“I grew up in the Bronx and I saw a lot of the guys I went to school with get caught up in the criminal justice system. I had a social worker when I was in high school and she was really involved with me and my sister making sure that we went to school and got good grades. I went to college for criminal justice and got my Master’s in Social Work because I wanted to give back to my community and I liked the impact that my social worker had on me and my sister. I knew I wanted to do this for young adults who I could help mold. I love that I ended up working at Louis Nine House, which isn’t too far from the community I grew up in.”
