Patricia Relapsed During the Pandemic. She Wants You To Hear Her Story.

Throughout most of her life, Patricia struggled with mental illness, addiction—and eventually homelessness.

Counseling from Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter's Chance for Change outpatient treatment program didn't make the struggle go away. But this unique program, which serves individuals who are homeless and battling addiction, gave her tools to reduce the harm drug use created. Patricia's progress made it possible for her to move out of the homeless shelter and into the NCS Residence, where permanent housing is combined with the supportive services that Patricia needs to thrive.

It wasn’t easy, but with support and effort, Patricia was thriving. And then came a global pandemic, shutting down New York City. Patricia wants to tell you more.
