How You Can Help
NCS receives approximately half of its funds from government contracts and the balance from private donations, including support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and religious institutions. This year NCS must raise close to $1 million in private funding in order to sustain its services for the homeless men and women it serves.
There are a variety of ways to make a contribution to NCS, and donations at any level are welcome.
|$5,000||Helps 1 young adult aging out of foster care secure and retain living wage employment.|
|$1,000||Provides three months of transitional housing and supportive services to a formerly homeless individual.|
|$500||Provides the Street Sheets resource guide to 7000 individuals who are homeless/at risk of homelessness.|
|$250||Supplies housewares and linens for 1 person moving from transitional housing to a permanent home.|
|$100||Provides Metrocards for 20 people to commute to job interviews.|
|$50||Provides a hot meal for 20 formerly homeless individuals living at the NCS Residence.|

Donors may wish to consider the advantages of making a gift of appreciated securities to NCS. If you have held a security for longer than a year, your gift qualifies as a charitable deduction. Contributing stock is one of the few ways a donor can avoid significant capital gains tax. Stock gifts can be made electronically or through the mail. Please contact Brinton Taylor Parson, Development Director, at 212-537-5140 for further information.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Please check with your employer to see if they participate in a matching gift program. Many corporations match employee gifts to charity dollar for dollar, an easy way to double the value of your gift.
