How You Can Help
NCS receives approximately half of its funds from government contracts and the balance from private donations, including support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and religious institutions. This year NCS must raise $1.1 million in private funding in order to sustain its services for the homeless men and women it serves.
There are a variety of ways to make a contribution to NCS, and donations at any level are welcome.
| $5,000 | Provides one year of transitional housing and supportive services to an individual in need. |
| $1,000 | Underwrites eight young Louis Nine House residents in the OPTIONS eight-week computer training program. |
| $500 | Supports one person for 16 weeks of on-the-job training in Emporium Online. |
| $250 | Supplies housewares and linens for one person moving from transitional housing to a permanent home. |
| $100 | Buys weekly Metrocards for four people commuting to internships. |
| $50 | Provides a hot meal for 20 formerly homeless individuals living at the NCS Residence. |

Stock Gifts
Donors may wish to consider the advantages of making a gift of appreciated securities to NCS. If you have held a security for longer than a year, your gift qualifies as a charitable deduction. Contributing stock is one of the few ways a donor can avoid significant capital gains tax. Stock gifts can be made electronically or through the mail. Please contact Diane Rush, Development Director, at 212-537-5140 for further information.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Please check with your employer to see if they participate in a matching gift program. Many corporations match employee gifts to charity dollar for dollar, an easy way to double the value of your gift.
Planned Gifts — Leave a Legacy: Help Homeless Men and Women Start Anew
