How You Can Help
NCS receives approximately half of its funds from government contracts and the balance from private donations, including support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and religious institutions. This year NCS must raise $1.3 million in private funding in order to sustain its services for the homeless men and women it serves. Of every dollar raised, 77 cents goes directly to program services.
How Your Gift Can Help:
$50 provides a hot meal for 25 people each night at NCHP
$100 buys new underwear and warm socks for 25 people
$250 covers one person’s participation in NCS’s eight-week computer course
$500 supplies a meal and warm bed for one month at Lester Waldman’s Place
$1,000 supports one person for one month in permanent or transitional housing
$2,500 underwrites an eight-week job training internship for five people
There are a variety of ways to make a contribution to NCS, and donations at any level are welcome.

Stock Gifts
Donors may wish to consider the advantages of making a gift of appreciated securities to NCS. If you have held a security for longer than a year, your gift qualifies as a charitable deduction. Contributing stock is one of the few ways a donor can avoid significant capital gains tax. Stock gifts can be made electronically or through the mail. Please contact Rachel Greenstein at 212-537-5140 for further information.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Please check with your employer to see if they participate in a matching gift program. Many corporations match employee gifts to charity dollar for dollar, an easy way to double the value of your gift.
